Some of the most important and beautiful things in life are at times the most basic.
When I think about life and the journeys that got me where I am now, I realize that no matter the various routes, complicated emotions, growing pains, poor eating habits, parenting mistakes, relationship blunders, desires for the latest and greatest clothes and technology, I look back and realize everything I worked so tirelessly for, was not much of what I really needed. Nor was it healthy, vital to my existence, long-lasting or the right choice for that matter.
There are many people that make the correct choices about their health and wellness throughout their whole life, but I unfortunately I was not one of them.
I always felt I wanted to live a better, more basic lifestyle, but being a single parent on a limited income and limited hours in the day, I somehow thought my life should be complicated, hurried and unhealthy.
Make Time For Basics
I now know that simplistic is just that… simplistic.
It doesn’t take more money to eat healthy, make my own cleaning products, or buy less toxic products.
It just makes more sense and cents.
I have spent more money on things I thought I needed, never used and no longer have, than if I would have lived a more balanced life doing the things that were the most beneficial to me and my family. In the long run…I was coming up short and unbalanced.
This realization is in part what brings me to create this web site to share with you.
I am certainly not an expert on mindfulness, wellness, nutrition or finances. I can say however, I am a licensed Aesthetician, mother, hard-working woman, and love to learn about how to better my health and wellness. I also love to share good experiences and lessons learned with others. I hope to motivate you to start taking steps now toward living a less toxic, more balance, basic life.
I have learned that basic is not boring!
There is time for basics because basics are a necessity. Basics are how people thrive and live healthy, mindful and purposeful lives. Join me sharing how and why to make time for basics in your life.
